1978-79 PONTIAC TRANS AM SHAKER AIR CLEANER OVAL SNORKEL W-72
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1978-79 Pontiac Trans Am Pontiac W72 400/455 Shaker Air Cleaner. The assembly has media blasted and refinished in semi-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the 6" oval snorkel in good condition, OEM Yellow striped and black vacuum lines, and a new heavy duty air filter. Also includes an original ATS with correct clip, EVE valve and retainer, new filter breather and clip, and GM Stamped adapter hose. The exterior features a new GM licensed Air Cleaner Service Decal (PJ=79). The base features the correct deep drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line. The original shaker lid is in overall good condition as well. The final finish has minor flaws, but hard to tell once installed.
To complete the package, a period correct wing nut is included.
This assembly is in good condition. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1978-79 models:
Pontiac
Trans Am with 400 / 455 Pontiac engine
Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop.
This will also fit the earlier 73-76 style Pontiac 400/455 engines, but will require the later style breather filter tube as it sits differently than the earlier models.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
CLAIMS
