1958 CHEVROLET BEL AIR IMPALA 348 TRI-POWER AIR CLEANER OEM
OEM 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala 348 Tripower Air Cleaner. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished to the original look of the 1958 cars featuring the infamous Tripower carburetion. The base features a clean interior with absolute minor interior anamolies, a clean filter ridge, smooth perimeter, and correct clearance dimples on the bottom. The snorkels are straight and clocked at 11:00 and 3:00 (as viewed from the "front" marking) - this defines the early year and engine option (without A/C) it will fit correctly. Both snorkels are the same length. The internal carburetor mounting stancheons are the tall stack style (original) and mount to the three carburetors; note that the all carburetor flanges are the same size and height. The exterior has been updated with a GM licensed air cleaner service decal - correct for the late 58 era assemblies. A prominant "C" is stamped above the lefthand top of each snorkel, adding further to the originality of the assembly (repros don't have these).
The original starburst lid is included and in good condition. It sits nicely on a new heavy duty air filter and is secured by a trio of period correct wing nuts.
