OEM 1969 Buick GS 400 Ram Air Air Cleaner Assembly in very nice condition. This assembly has been refinished to the original look of the 1969 cars featuring the four barrel Ram Air air cleaners. The base features a very clean interior, factory drain, correct Air Temperature Sensor, Dual snorkel inlets featuring new white-striped vacuum lines, GM licensed air cleaner service decal (BT=69 GS400), and a new breather filter. An original lid augments the assembly complete with original seal.  The assembly is completed by adding a heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut.

The Ram Air fiberglass adapter piece is in very good condition as well. The bottom cups are complete and fit nicely. An embossed OEM 400 GS decal has been added to the adapter along with new correct sealing foams. On the interior, a period correct date code reflects the factory appearance more accurately. 

As an added bonus, the assembly comes with the correct 69 pre-heater rubber elbow, replete with two clamp screws and interior support spring, and pre-heater metal pipe.

IMPORTANT: You must use the special Y bracket for the 400/455 models (69-72) in order to prevent damaging the ram air adapter (too much pressure on the foams from the hood will make it crack).

This assembly is in very good condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following:

1969 Buick

Regal Gran Sport/GS with the 400 engine 

*this will fit the GS 350 engines, but the foams are slightly shortly (won't compress as much) due to the difference in deck height, and requires a different GS350 Ram Air decal (not included).

Note: this will not fit the 70-71 models; 72 models featured a triangulated driver's side cup to allow for the air pump - a visual and functional difference. It will not fit the 70-72 models due to the differences in valve cover orientations/style and pre-heater attachment differences.

FITMENT

This assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange (Quadrajet). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored. It will NOT work with a high rise intake manifold or a carburetor spacer - this changes the engine center height, creating early contact with the hood (and potential for cracking the Ram Air adapter). Ideally suited for OEM intake manifolds or aftermarket manifolds with the same flange height.
