1974-76 PONTIAC TRANS AM W72 SHAKER AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH DUCTWORK
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1974-76 Pontiac Trans Am Pontiac W72 400/455 Shaker Air Cleaner. The assembly has been refinished in semi-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel inlet with the correct 6" opening, new vacuum lines, and a new heavy duty air filter. An original air temperature sensor is retained by an OEM clip, with each connected with new vacuum lines to the snorkel and carburetor. The exterior features a GM Licensed Air Cleaner Service Decal (PE=74), along with a reproduced date stamp. The base features the correct deep drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line of the F-body. The base has the provision for the 3 way thermo-valve, but it is not included.
A replacement shaker lid installs on top of the filter and enhances the assembly. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut and a new filter breather replete with rubber adapter are included.
The air cleaner is completed with factory original three piece fresh air ductwork for the early style (not reproduced), along with a period correct adapter hose featuring metal band clamps.
This assembly is in good condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1974-76 models:
Pontiac
Trans Am with 400 Pontiac engine: W-72 (74-76); L78 400 or 455 engines.
Note:it will fit 73-74 (omit the use of the 3 way thermo-valve, and 76 T/As as well (requires the addition of an EVE valve - optional to use, but functions without one added).
Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, distributor, or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
