DESCRIPTION
OEM 1970 (71/72) Oldsmobile 4-4-2 W-30 400 / 455 Outside Air Induction Air Cleaner Assembly. This is an original Olds OAI fresh air top induction air cleaner assembly that completes the W-30 OAI option for the 4-4-2 400 / 455 engines. The overall assembly is very nice for a 45 year-old part and functions as new. The original base features the 70 specific wide snorkel assembly complete with ThermAC and new white striped vacuum lines. The interior retains the original drains, as well as the correct ATS, clips, secondary valve cover port with plug, and a reproduced date code. The exterior is completed with an original vacuum tube grommet and tube.
The OAI top features a vacuum actuator that works flawlessly, as does the trap door. The housing is solid with only one small repair (located at 2 o'clock on the outside below the foam - largely out of sight once installed). The remainder of the plastic is very nice with nominal wear showing (as pictured). The bottom of the assembly is very clean - there is some evidence of factory adhesive that remains. The air cleaner seal is nice as well. Both the housing and trap door show PNs and year/date codes.
A new 455 foam seal has been added to ensure a complete seal, while the OLDSMOBILE call-out remains clean and presentable.
This assembly is in nice condition and will enhance your restoration. It is an ideal choice for adding an original W-30 Outside Air Induction (OIA) option if your car didn't originally have it. Best of all, it is a rare and genuine GM part!

While this assembly is dated for 1970, it will function on 71-72 models as well.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors featuring a 5 1/8" flange, including OEM Quadrajets, select Holley (non-duel feed lines), Carter AVS, and Edelbrock AFB/AVS iterations. If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
