DESCRIPTION

Custom Deep Drop Trans Am Lemans GTO Shaker Air Cleaner Assembly. For 1970-79 Trans Am cars, this assembly allows sealed cold fresh air to be directly ducted in from the rear opening of the shaker scoop and from the dual inlets on the sides using fresh air ducts. The base features a deep drop that will fit Quadrajet, several Holley, Edelbrock (without Electric Choke), and many EFI systems. This assembly maintains a slightly sloped carburetor flange that is easily modified to match varying hood lines.  

The domed lid sits atop a properly oiled K&N filter, helping to minimize the potential for water intake via the open air shaker. Note that this assembly fits the 70-79 style shakers for Pontiac engines (except 301) with the larger diameter shaker scoop adapter; it will not fit the 77-81 styles featuring Olds 403, Chevy 350/305, or Pontiac 301 due to differing diameters and/or engine centerlines.

As an added value, a customized air cleaner service decal is installed to add a nice touch of originality, albeit with a more correct application.

This assembly is in nice condition and will enhance your fresh air performance.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following 1970-79  models:

Pontiac

Trans Am with 400 / 455 Pontiac engine

*it will also fit GTO/Lemans/Grand Prix, etc... with possible modifications based on hood slope, as well as fuel inlet/return requirements for EFI systems.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment s may be required), and select EFI systems. 

If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
