DESCRIPTION

OEM 1970-71 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454 LS5 396/400 LS3 Oval Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished in 60% gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the long oval snorkel in good condition, along with the ThermAC vacuum pod and inlet, new white-striped and black vacuum lines, a new heavy duty A348C Delco air filter and breather filter, and a recreated date stamp (early 1970). The exterior features a reproduced Air Cleaner Service Decal (CM=70); note that it has slight factory stamping waves around parts of the side. The interior is in excellent condition as well

The original OEM lid is a nice addition to the assembly and features an original seal. To complete the package, a set of GM licensed reproduction 454 Cross Flags and Turbo-Jet 360HP decals have been added (loosely installed) to represent the original appearance; other sets are available depending upon your application. The assembly is topped off with a period correct wing nut. 

This assembly is in nice condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following models:

1970-71 Chevrolet

Monte Carlo SS with LS5 454 360 HP  or LS3 396/400 300 HP

Note that this is the smaller 15 1/8" air cleaner diameter, but with the much larger snorkel as compared to small block 350 assemblies. It also differs from later production air cleaners by way of the smoothed/radiused carburetor inlet flange (later models feature prominent squared edges on the interior of the flange).

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits both AC and non- A/C cars. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim. This item is shipped insured for all destinations.
