1967-68 DODGE CHARGER CORONET R/T ROAD RUNNER SUPER BEE 440 MAGNUM DUAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER W/CAP
OEM 1967-68 Mopar 440 Magnum Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished in black wrinkle to present a period correct image. The 18.5" top is in very nice condition and features the dual snorkels with CAP and correct clearance indentations. The matching base features the 5 1/8" flange (Carter AVS), allowing use of the larger carburetors (Edelbrock,Holley, Etc...) and includes a new Mopar seal. The inside surfaces have been finished to prevent the typical surface rust that unfinished factory units were susceptible to. An NOS new heavy duty stainless perforated air filter and period correct wing nut are included to complete the assembly. Note that the wrinkle finish contains typical variations to match that of the factory production methods. Note the base is specific to the B-body cars and features a full flange all around - not like the C-body items with the distributor indentation relief.
As an added value, the assembly is complemented with an original survivor 440 Magnum pie pan - complete with patina - and a Mopar Air Cleaner Service Decal. Due to the discontinued MP parts, we no longer have new 440 Magnum pie pans available. As an option, this can be substituted with a 440 Super Commando pie pan...just let us know.
Note that the CAP provision was fully incorporated into most 1968 models - it depended upon your car's build date, final location destination, and emissions requirements. The dual snorkel assembly was mostly found on California cars, but migrated throughout the country during the model year.
This assembly is in very good condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is an ultra-rare genuine Mopar piece!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1967-68 383/440 high performance models with CAP:

*with change of pie pan (not included)
Note: this assembly is specific to the 67-68 440 cars due to the 18.5" diameter. It does not interchange with the C-body air cleaner assemblies that are slightly taller and feature a very different base plate (indented and raised flange). Later 69 dual snorkels reverted to the 17.5" air cleaner diameter with similar appearances, but featured CAP on driver side of the top.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory style 4 barrel Carter AVS carburetors, as well as modern iterations Edelbrock/Holley/Carter AVS carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange. There is a reverse adapter that allows installation on a 4 1/8" that converts the flange to a 5 1/8" available through other channels for use on earlier OEM Carter AFB carburetors.
If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
