DESCRIPTION

OEM 1968-72 Chevrolet Camaro/Chevelle/Impala/Nova SS 396/427/454 LS3/LS5/L36/L72 Air Cleaner Pre-Heater Stove Chimney Tube Elbow kit. This is an original 50+ year-old pre-heater exhaust manifold stove assembly specific to the 68-72 396/454 models that has been media blasted to bare metal, then coated with high heat ceramic mid-gloss black. It remains in good condition throughout the assembly and is a very nice example of an almost impossible to find part. The exhaust manifold stove is in good condition with minimal pitting. The FABCO stamped chimney features the square insert with screw hole where the tube adapter inserts into the stove. The black aluminized tube is new and fits tightly on both the chimney and elbow. The original plastic elbow inlet that attaches to the bottom of the snorkel is nice as well and complete with correct Wittek screw clamp.

These are extremely hard to find - especially in good to better condition. Back when new, these were typically discarded in lieu of presumed performance enhancements (especially once headers were installed). If you can find an NOS piece, they will likely bring 3-4 times the price.

This kit presents very well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a very rare and genuine GM part! 

Many of our parts are available only once - we cannot predict if/when another will become available due to the scarcity of original parts. This is the only NOS one we have ever seen in many years - it will likely be the last available for these rare and desirable cars. The old adage "here today, gone tomorrow" applies to many of these unique assemblies. While we strive to maintain a strong diversity of desirable parts, there simply aren't enough available to meet demand at times.

While the air cleaner assemblies varied across the Chevrolet platform, the stove and pre-heater assembly remained consistent.

The assembly is exclusive for cars equipped with 396/400/402/427/454 without cowl induction hoods and the 71-72 A-body cars with either closed element or cowl induction air cleaners. It will correctly install on original factory big block exhaust manifolds indicated for the period.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory original 68-72 Big Block exhaust manifolds and air cleaner assemblies as noted. If you have modified your exhaust manifolds or air cleaner, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
