1968-69 PONTIAC GTO FIREBIRD 400 OVAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER

DESCRIPTION

OEM 1968-69 Pontiac GTO Firebird 400 Oval Snorkel Air Cleaner. The assembly has media blasted and refinished in mid-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel in good condition with a fully functional ThermAC vacuum valve, new white-striped  and black vacuum lines, correct air temperature sensor, and a new heavy duty air filter. The exterior features a GM licensed reproduction air cleaner service decal (PR=68/69) that replaces the original silk-screened instructions. The base features the correct drop required for the 400, as well as the 5 1/8" carburetor flange designed to work with factory Rochester Quadrajets. Note the snorkel features stamping anomolies that appear like very small blotches - hard to see once installed, but mentioned for clarity. An original style date stamp has been added to the inside as a nice touch of authenticity.

A triple plated reproduction chrome lid with seal enhances the assembly and creates the factory image. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut & new filter breather with adapter are included.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following models:

Pontiac

GTO (68) 

Firebird 400-4 (68 and 69) 

This assembly will also fit the 350 HO engines, but is techically not correct.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
