DESCRIPTION

 

OEM 1967 AMC 343 Typhoon High Compression Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished to represent the factory OEM appearance as produced for the 67 models. It features the long tapered snorkel inlet with the formed snorkel end. The base is in excellent condition both inside and out. The flange is 4 1/8" and accommodates original Carter AFB carburetors. The exterior carries the correct red/blue/black version of the American Motors air cleaner service decal. An "AM" stamp has been added as a nice touch of authenticity and complements the decal nomenclature.

The ridged top is specific to this assembly and is in good condition too and comes with an original lid seal. It is finished off with a new reproduction 343 Typhoon High Compression air cleaner decal to bring the visuals back to original. The wing nut well is clean, while the lid contours nicely with an NOS AMC heavy duty air filter. The assembly is completed with a period correct wing nut.

Many of our parts are available only once - we cannot predict if/when another will become available due to the scarcity of original parts. The old adage "here today, gone tomorrow" applies to many of these unique assemblies. While we strive to maintain a strong diversity of desirable parts, there simply aren't enough available to meet demand at times. 

The assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a rare and genuine AMC part!

This assembly is correct for the following 1967 models:

AMC

Marlin, Rebel Raider, Rebel SST, Ambassador SST, Rambler Wagon, Rogue

*All 65-66 models featured the Carter AFB with the smaller 4 1/8" flange, but used a different assembly. 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Carter carburetors with a 4 1/8" diameter flange; it will NOT fit Holley, Carter AVS, and Edelbrock variations. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
