1964-65 MOPAR CHROME AIR CLEANER 426 STREET WEDGE COMMANDO
DESCRIPTION
1964-65 Mopar 426 4V Street Wedge Chrome Unsilenced Air Cleaner. This assembly is an original survivor Street Wedge from the 1964-65 era without CAP. The chrome remains at a 7.5-8.0 rating due to age factors. Overall, it presents very well; there are a few wear marks as pictured, but will be hard to discern once installed. The top is garnished with a Mopar Licensed air cleaner service decal. The replacement base is engineered for a deeper drop to allow additional carburetor clearances and features a 5 1/8" carburetor flange that fits modern iterations of Holley/Edelbrock/Carter AFB carburetors. An adapter to fit the early style AFB (OEM) models is available through other channels. The interior of the lid is clean and has been cleaned and cleared to reduce corrosion/discolorization. To complete the assembly, a new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included.
As an added value, the assembly comes with a Mopar Licensed Plymouth 426 Commando decal applied (loosely installed).
This assembly is in nice driver condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a rarer Mopar part.

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1964-65 426 high performance models without CAP:
Dodge
440, Polara, Coronet, Dart
Plymouth
Fury, Satellite, Savoy, Belvedere
It will fit A/B/C-body cars ranging from 62-67 as well with the large carburetor flange, but is only correct for 1964-65. It will also fit 383/413 models as well from this era.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange. It will fit Holley, Carter AVS, and Edelbrock variations as is; OEM Carter AFBs with the use of an air cleaner adapter. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
