DESCRIPTION

OEM 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Chieftan Super Chief Star Chief Safari 370 Tri-power Air Cleaner in nice condition. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished to the original look of the 1958 cars featuring the Tri-power carburetion. The base has a clean interior, a straight filter ridge, smooth perimeter, and correct clearance dimples. The snorkels are straight and clocked at 11:00 and 1:00 - this defines the year it will fit correctly; both snorkels are the same length. The exterior features the factory "P" stamping above the left snorkel, as well as a reproduction air cleaner service decal. The internal carburetor mounting stanchions are original and mount to the three carburetors; note that all of the carburetor flanges are small - indicative of the 58 models which fit the Rochester 2 Jet 2GC carburetors. The assembly includes an NOS (aged slightly, but very functional) A59C mesh air filter - embossed with the AC logo on the top rim of the filter. 

The original smooth lid is included and is also in good condition. It sits nicely on the air filter and is secured by a period correct wing nut. Note this assembly is equipped with the two-way nipple for the air suspension - this can be used correctly or capped off if not required. Note that the rear carburetor mounting stanchion had been previously welded to the base - while it appears different, it is structurally solid, as well as out of sight once installed.

FITMENT

This assembly will fit factory Rochester style tri-power carburetors with the three 2 1/2" center carburetor flanges. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
