1958 Chevrolet Impala 348 409 57 Pontiac Chieftan 316 370 Tripower Air Cleaner
OEM 1958 Chevrolet Belair 348 Tripower Air Cleaner with A/C. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished to the original look of the 1957-58 cars featuring the infamous Tripower carburetion. The base features a clean interior with absolute minor interior anamolies, a clean filter ridge, smooth perimeter, and correct clearance dimples on the bottom. The snorkels are straight and clocked at 12:00 and 2:00 (as viewed from the "front" marking) - this defines the late year and engine option (with A/C) it will fit correctly. Both snorkels are the same length. The internal carburetor mounting stancheons are original and mount to the three carburetors; note that the all carburetor flanges are the same size and height. The exterior has been updated with a GM licensed air cleaner service decal - correct for the late 57-58 era assemblies.
The original starburst lid is included and in good condition. It sits nicely on an NOS heavy duty high performance perforated air filter and is secured by a trio of period correct wing nuts.
This assembly presents nicely and remains an excellent choice to enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a rare and genuine GM part!
