DESCRIPTION

 

OEM 1983*-84 Hurst/Olds 4-4-2 Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. The assembly has been refinished in mid-gloss black to present a period correct image. The large single snorkel with the formed oval end is in good condition and features a fully functional ThermAC pre-heater along with new vacuum lines. The smaller secondary snorkel is also fully functional and in good condition. The base is clean and comes with a correct air temperature sensor (ATS) installed with the correct retainer along with a new valve cover breather tube grommet.  The original light blue flame arrestor screen is clean and presents/functions well.

An original survivor chrome lid (an 8 - 8.5 out of 10) replete with inside black-out insert enhances the assembly and features an original seal. To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter, along with a period correct wing nut are included. 

This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a rare and genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS

 

This assembly is correct for the following 1983*-84 models:

Oldsmobile

Hurst/Olds 4-4-2, Cutlass Calais*

This assembly is specific to the G-body platforms and is not intended for the early A-body units as it differs in size, snorkel orientations, and ancillary components. While it is technically correct for W-40 83*-84 cars, it will fit the 83-87 Olds Cutlass models as well, adding a distinctive look to the engine compartment. (*83 models came with a TVS valve on the front). There are variations in both applications/markings/lids over the 83-87 run of 4-4-2 G body assemblies that are not part of our description.

 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (non-double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations without electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

 

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

 

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
