1973-79 Pontiac Trans Am W72 Shaker Air Cleaner Assembly

DESCRIPTION

OEM 1975-79 Pontiac Trans Am Pontiac W72 400/455 Shaker Air Cleaner. The assembly has been refinished in semi-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel inlet with the correct 6" opening, new yellow-striped  vacuum lines, and a new heavy duty air filter. Both an original ATS with correct clip and EVE valve are included as well. The exterior features a GM Licensed Air Cleaner Service Decal (PU=76). The base features the correct deep drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line of the F-body. 

An original shaker lid (minor blemishes) installs on top of the filter and enhances the assembly. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut and a new filter breather replete with GM stamped ribbed rubber adapter are included.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following 1973-79 models:

Pontiac

Trans Am with 400 Pontiac engine: W-72 (75-76, 78-79 specific due to 6" oval snorkel inlet); L78 400 or 455 engines.

Note:it will also fit 77 cars, but in incorrect (they used the round snorkel inlet). It will also fit 73-74 T/As as well, but features the multi-port and EVE valves (optional to use).

*It will also fit 455 Pontiac engines transplanted into 400 cars. 

Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop. 

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, distributor, or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
