DESCRIPTION
1974 Hurst Oldsmobile 4-4-2 Rocket 455 Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner Re-creation. This assembly has been finished to represent the factory rare dual snorkel found on the 74 HO cars featuring the W-30 455. The large single snorkel with the formed round adapter is in good condition and features a fully functional ThermAC pre-heater along with new white-striped vacuum line. The smaller secondary snorkel is representative of the correct part, but does not retain the trap door inside. The base is clean and comes with a correct Olds specific 1974 air temperature sensor (ATS) installed with the correct retainer and a new valve cover breather tube grommet. The exterior features a reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (NX=74 455) that replaces the original decal. As an added measure, an original date stamp has been recreated to add a nice touch of authenticity. This assembly is specific to 1974 W-30 cars due to the location of the dual snorkel size/orientations, and pre-heater inlet location on the bottom of the long snorkel. Due to the new for 74 implementation of HEI ignition, the base is offset in order to clear the HEI coil/distributor and retains factory indentations designed for clearance.
An OEM lid enhances the assembly and features an original seal.To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter, along with a period correct wing nut are included. To add further distinction, a GM licensed Oldsmobile Rocket 455 decal is installed and complements the assembly. A correctly configured offset carburetor stud is included to ensure fitment is accurate and correct.
As an added bonus, a new aluminized pre-heater tube is included to make installation more complete.
With so few remaining original 74 W-30's, a re-creation assembly is the most cost-effective alternative to getting as close to original appearance as possible.

This assembly is a very limited piece due to the size, orientation, and nature of the snorkels, pre-heater inlet orientation, and fresh air fitting.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange. If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
