DESCRIPTION

OEM 1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 350 HEI Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished in mid-gloss black finish to present a period correct image. The base features Z28 specific short dual snorkels that are in good condition as well as the points ignition coil indentation (HEI featured a larger indentation in the rear), along with a new heavy duty air filter, new breather filter with original GM stamped adapter, and a recreated date stamp. There is some pitting remaining on the interior floor, but is completely out of sight once installed; no issues will be present as the assembly was blasted to bare metal as well. The exterior features a GM licensed reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (DW=74) that was specific for the early points assemblies. The dual snorkel air cleaner is specific to original 74 cars, but will fit many other models as well to include 70-73.  

The new reproduction chrome-plated reproduction lid is a nice addition to the assembly and features a new seal to ensure correct sealing. To complete the package, the assembly is topped off with a period correct chrome wing nut.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following models:

1974 Chevrolet

Camaro Z28 / LT models 350 4V  with Points; fits both 4 Speed and Automatic transmission models

Note that this is the smaller 15 1/8" air cleaner - not the larger 17 1/8" Z28 style air cleaners currently reproduced for the 70-72 models. It also differs from the Corvette assemblies by way of omittance of notches near the breather filter (cowl flange retention) and shorter snorkels than found on the C3 air cleaners.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits both A/C and non A/C cars.If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
