DESCRIPTION

OEM 1973-76 Pontiac Trans Am 400 455 Shaker Hood Scoop. This is an original shaker hood scoop that is in good overall condition. The fiberglass appears to be structurally sound with straight surfaces all around. The shaker scoop base plate is correct for the 400/455 Pontiac engines; it still retains the breather filter alignment tangs. The back of scoop inlet is original and has NOT been cut - the steel block-off plate has been replaced with a mesh insert (temporarily installed with zip ties) to add fresh air functionality. The interior features the Barnum Brothers details and has been blacked out. There is no plastic drain included, but the hole is present.  The shaker is staged in primer, ready for minor work and final preparation for paint.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following 1973-76 models:

Pontiac

Trans Am with 400 / 455 Pontiac engines

Note: this will NOT fit the 77-81 hoods, nor the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop and styling, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop and shaker adpater plate size. 

It will fit 70-72 Trans Ams, but does not use the base plate studs originally used on these cars.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 16.5" shaker air cleaner base and on factory height intake manifolds. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
