DESCRIPTION

OEM 1968-70 AMC 290 343 360 Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished to represent the factory appearance as produced for the 68-70 models. It features the early snorkel inlet featuring a thermally regulated valve and pre-heater provisions. The base is in very good condition and the front small diameter breather tube. The flange is 5 1/8" inch and accomodates factory 2 and 4 barrel carburetors (Autolite 2100 & 4300 models) as well as modern iterations of Edelbrock AFB and select Holley carburetors. The exterior carries the 70 green version air cleaner service decal. A "Made in Canada" stamp has been added as a nice touch of authenticity and complements the decal nomenclature.

The ridged top is specific to this assembly and is nice. It is finished off with a reproduction AMC licensed 360 Two Barrel air cleaner decal (loosely installed). The original dimpled wing nut well is in nice condtion and contours perfectly with an NOS Fram perforated high performance air filter. The assembly is completed with a period correct wing nut. 

This is a nice assembly that will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine AMC product.

APPLICATIONS

 

This assembly is correct for the following 1968-70 models:

AMC

Javelin SST, Rebel Raider, Rebel SST, Ambassador SST, Rambler Wagon

It will fit a variety of AMC engines - 290, 343, 360, 401. While it was largely intended for the 2 barrel models, the carburetor flange is 5 1/8" and will fit all modern 4 barrel carburetors. Note this style differs from the 390 and cowl induction bases by way of design and filter diameter; the bolt-on snorkel is the same.

 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 2 & 4 barrel Autolite carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (non-double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations without electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tang may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
