DESCRIPTION

OEM 1968-70 AMC 290 343 360 390 Air Cleaner  Pre-heater Stove Assembly. This assembly has been refinished to represent the factory appearance as produced for the 68-70 models. It features the stove flange that mounts to the negative battery ground on the front of the cylinder head. The stove area is very clean and straight, while the chimney is tapered from an oval to the round inlet that connects to the inside of the air cleaner snorkel base. It has been refinished in AMC blue and is sure to retain the original appearance for a very long time.

Most of these original parts were discarded when the original exhaust systems were replaced with headers; rust and corrosion have also caused many to fall to pieces and disintegrate over time. Finding an original one, let alone in this condition, is a challenge in today's environment. 

This part presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine AMC product.

APPLICATIONS

 

This assembly is correct for the following 1968-70 models:

AMC

AMX, Javelin SST, Rebel Raider, Rebel SST, Ambassador SST, Rambler Wagon, SCRambler

It will fit a variety of AMC engines - 290, 343, 360, 390, 401. It will connect to the factory AMC bolt-on snorkels featuring the large tapered preheater inlet (3" diameter)

 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 2 & 4 barrel AMC exhaust manifolds with original air cleaners featuring the bolt-on snorkels for a variety of engine displacements. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to purchase to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
