DESCRIPTION

OEM 1968-69 Hurst Olds 4-4-2 400 / 455 W-30 Ram Air Cleaner Assembly. This is an ultra-rare 68-69 W-30 dual snorkel air cleaner assembly for the special 68-69 models featuring the W-30 Outside Air Induction freash air option. The air cleaner base has been refinished to present a period correct image. The large dual snorkels with tapered oval ends are in nice condition and feature fully functional ThermAC pre-heaters along with new white striped and black vacuum lines. The base is clean and comes with a correct 1968 air temperature sensor (ATS) installed with the original retainer.  The exterior features a car-specific Air Cleaner Service Decal (OJ=68 Ram Air) that replaces the originally located decal (yes, the original was placed on the very back of the assembly for 68).  As an added measure, an original date stamp has been recreated to add a nice touch of authenticity. This assembly is specific to 1968-69 4-4-2 and 68 H/O cars due to the location of the filter breather outlet, snorkel size/orientation, and pre-heater inlet location on the bottom of the snorkels. It presents as a typical factory original part did. Note the primary difference between 68 and 69 are the ThermAC retainers; 68 is smooth, while the 69 models featured the ThermAC embossed emblem. Also, the air cleaner service decal PN/Code and location are different between the years.

The chrome lid is a modern reproduction that comes complete with a new seal. To complete the assembly, a new and correct A212CW AC Delco air filter and wing nut are included.

With just under 1,500 units produced for the 68 model year, it makes the original W-30 specific parts far more valuable.

Oldsmobile

Hurst Olds (68),  4-4-2, Rallye 350

 

This unit will also fit the W-31 and W-32 models as well. 

 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits non- A/C cars only. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
