1967 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS 427 385HP OVAL AIR CLEANER OEM
OEM 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS Z-24 Caprice Biscayne Sport Coupe 427/385HP L-36 Air Cleaner. The assembly has been finished in the semi-gloss black finish to present a period correct image. The single snorkel with oval end (as opposed to shorter and tapered style used on the 396 assemblies) is in nice condition. The base is very clean and features the correct flat bottom interior of the 67 large diameter air cleaner. The exterior features an identical GM licensed reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (67 427 4 speed) as it was removed. As an added measure, an original style date stamp has been recreated to add a nice touch of authenticity.
A correct Chevrolet reproduction chrome lid enhances the assembly and features a new seal. To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included. To add further distinction, GM licensed 427 Cross Flags and Turbo-Jet 385HP have been installed.
As an added value, the original Chevrolet chrome lid replete with decals is included - add to your wall art collection!
History: the 67 L-36 was featured in a very limited number of cars. 2,124 full size cars received the top power plant for the year - many of the assemblies were immediately discarded and never seen again. Rarity, coupled with correct details, adds tremendous value to the remaining Impala SS/Biscayne L-36 cars. These one-year only assemblies come along few and far between -finding an original is extremely rare.
This assembly is in overall excellent condition and will enhance your restoration. Please remember that this is an original air cleaner that we have used as a reference for our re-creations (available at a lower price).

FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (non-double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations without electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
