DESCRIPTION
OEM style 1973-79 Pontiac Trans Am W72 L78 400 / 455 Fresh Air Duct. This is the correct style 4" fresh air duct that was used on all Pontiac Trans Ams/Formulas from 1973-1979. It is new and has never been used. Each hose features a 4" diameter opening on both ends with formed plastic sliding clips. Unlike the cheaper flex hose with no clips, these are as close to the OEM air intake hoses as possible. The 4" vinyl hose covers the spiral wrapped insert - providing resistance to moisture, as well as the strength required to bridge the gap between the air cleaner inlet and fender mounted fresh air duct. It will install on your W72 oval to round intake adapter, as well as on the L78/L80 round snorkel end; the connection point is at the elbow duct near the fender.
They are also flexible enough to fit the 1976-79 Chevrolet Z-28 models; the ducting can be conformed to an oval inlet on one end required with the radiator mounted ducting on these models.
Specifications: These hoses are approximately 8" in the relaxed position. They will compress down to 6" and extend up to 18" to fit a myriad of requirements. Since they feature metal spirals, they will retain their uniform diameter throughout the hose once installed. Note the original 73-76 parts were made of fiber material and broke down over time; later versions were updated to vinyl for durability and retained a metal clasp.
These parts have completely disappeared from the production process - we have a very limited number of these available. Only three left - once they are gone, there are no more!

*It will not fit 80-81 Chevy 305 since the diameter of the snorkel is not adapted for this application. It will also not fit the smaller 301 elbow inlets since they were only 3" in diameter.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel air cleaner assemblies as found on the 73-79 Trans Ams, 76-77 Camaro Z-28, and various Pontiac models featuring fresh air inlets. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
