DESCRIPTION

OEM 1971-72 Chevrolet Chevelle SS El Camino SS Heavy Chevy 396/400/402 LS3 Tapered Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished in 60% gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the wider and long tapered snorkel in very good condition, along with the ThermAC vacuum pod, new white-striped vacuum lines, new breather filter, and a recreated date stamp (early 1971 models). The exterior features a reproduced Air Cleaner Service Decal (CM=71). The interior is in excellent condition and is home to an NOS A348C air filter - making this assembly a very nice set.  

The OEM lid is a nice addition to the assembly and features an original seal. To complete the package, a GM licensed reproduction 400/300 Horsepower Turbo-Jet decal has been added (loosely installed) to represent the original appearance. The assembly is topped off with a period correct wing nut. 

As an added value, an original pre-heater elbow replete with correct Wittek clamp is included to make installation more complete.

This assembly is in very nice condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following models:

1971-72 Chevrolet

Chevelle El Camino Malibu Heavy Chevy with LS3 396 / 400 /402 

Wagons - Greenbriar, Concourse

Note that 72 cars would not have the displacement decal (it is still included - to be installed at the owner's discretion).

The assembly is exclusive for cars equipped with 396/400/402 without cowl induction hoods.

Note that this is the smaller 15 1/8" air cleaner diameter, but with the much larger snorkel as compared to small block 350 assemblies.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits non- A/C cars only. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

WARRANTY

This assembly is guaranteed to match the item description – customers have up to 14 days to return the assembly after receipt if it is not as described.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS
