1977 PONTIAC TRANS AM BANDIT 400 SHAKER HOOD SCOOP 6.6 LITRE

DESCRIPTION

OEM 1977 Pontiac Trans Am W72 400 Shaker Hood Scoop. This is an original shaker hood scoop that is in excellent overall original condition. The original Mayan Red paint has held up well, as have the original decals. The fiberglass is very nice with a nice original patina and the correct center ridge on top. The base plate is correct for the 400 Pontiac engines - the 6.6 LITRE decal indicates such. The base plate also features the original spacers - unique to 77 models. The back scoop inlet is original and has NOT been cut - hard to find these days. The interior features the Barnum Brothers details, as well as a stamped date code.Includes the original drain and sealant securing it to the corner.

There are no apparent/obvious cracks anywhere to be found on the assemlby.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following 1977 models:

Pontiac

Trans Am with 400 Pontiac engine: W-72 (77 specific due to 2" height of the unit, spacers, and shorter rear closed inlet); L78 400.

Note: 78-79 W-72 cars came with the taller version (2.5") without the spacers - while this will work, it is not technically correct.

*It will also fit 455 Pontiac engines transplanted into 400 cars. 

Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop and shaker adpater plate size. 

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 16.5" shaker air cleaner base and on factory height intake manifolds. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.

CLAIMS

In the event of shipping damage, customers must save all packaging and send 5 digital pictures so Musclecar Air Cleaners can initiate a shipping damage claim.
