1977-79 Olds 403 Trans Am Air Cleaner
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1977 78 79 Pontiac Trans Am 403 L80 Oldsmobile Shaker Air Cleaner Assembly. This piece has been refinished in semi-gloss to present a period correct image. The round 4" snorkel is in good condition, feeding air through the functional ThermAC pre-heater, and into a clean base with air deflector. The factory clear air temperature sensor is mounted using the factory correct spring clip, routing reproduction yellow-striped vacuum hose to the ThermAC on the snorkel. The base features the correct angled drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line. The exterior features the correct GM Licensed Air Cleaner Service Decal (PN=Olds 77-79) to add further authenticity. The assembly includes the Olds specific adapter grommet installed on the side - still soft and supple. The original shaker lid is in good condition as well with a very minor ding. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut and new heavy duty air filter are included.

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1977 78 79 models:
Pontiac
Trans Am with 403 Olds engine
This assembly cannot be used on Pontiac 301/400/455 or Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the size (301) or offset of the base plate as related to the carburetor flange, as well as the height of the requisite shaker base plate adapter.
Note: this will NOT fit the L78 400 Pontiac engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as some Holley, Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (the alignment tangs have been altered). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
