1975-76 PONTIAC TRANS AM W72 400/455 SHAKER AIR CLEANER
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1975-76 Pontiac Trans Am Pontiac 400/455 Shaker Air Cleaner. The assembly has refinished in 60% gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel in overall good condition with minor faded ThermAC script on top of the snorkel. Includes new yellow-striped vacuum lines and a new heavy duty air filter. Includes TEV, Air Temperature Sensor with correct clips. The exterior features a new Air Cleaner Service Decal (RD=75). The base features the correct deep drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line.
The shaker lid is in good condition as well. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut and a new filter breather are included. The assembly is completed with an original valve cover tube complete with adapter.
As an added bonus, a correct Pontiac pre-heater (featuring valve cover relief on the bottom), Wittek tower clamp, and black aluminized tube are included to make installation more complete.
While not perfect, this assembly presents well and will restore your Trans Am to factory specifications. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1975-76 models:
Pontiac
Trans Am with 400 / 455 Pontiac engine
*It can fit 78-79 models by using the earlier style offset breather filter tube
*It will also fit 73-74 400s - however, these did not come with the ported vacuum sensor in the side of the base. 77 W-72 cars used the round 4" air cleaner. Note that this air cleaner is specific to 75-76 due to the orientation of the breather filter inlet location whereas 78-79 assemblies had it perpendicular to the front of the assembly. 74 assemblies did not feature the multi-vacuum port on the side.
Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 305/350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, distributor, or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to purchase to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
