DESCRIPTION
OEM 1975-76/78-79 Pontiac Trans Am Pontiac W72 400/455 Shaker Air Cleaner. The assembly has media blasted and refinished in semi-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features an oval snorkel in good condition with the correct 6" opening, new yellow-striped and black vacuum lines, and a new heavy duty air filter. All factory emissions components to include an original ATS with correct clip and ported vacuum sensor are included as well. The exterior features an original GM Air Cleaner Service Decal (RK=75). The base features the correct deep drop required for proper shaker hood clearance, as well as the angled flange that parallels the base level with the sloped hood line. There are minor surface anomalies on the sides of the base - out of sight once installed, but mentioned for clarity.
The replacement shaker lid is in good condition as well. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut and a new filter breather replete with GM stamped rubber adapter are included.
This assembly is in nice condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1974-76 / & 78-79 models:
Pontiac
Trans Am with 400 / 455 Pontiac engine
*It will also fit 73 400s - however, these did not come with the ported vacuum sensor in the side of the base. 77 W-72 cars used the round 4" air cleaner. Note that this air cleaner is specific to 74-75 in that it doesn't feature the triangulare EVE fitting in the base, whereas 76-79 assemblies did. 74 assemblies did not feature the multi-vacuum port on the side.
Note: this will NOT fit the L80 403 Olds engines or Pontiac 301/Chevrolet 350 engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
