1972-73 MOPAR 340 TRAP DOOR AIR CLEANER DART DUSTER DEMON CUDA CHALLENGER
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1972-73 Mopar 340 Four Barrel Trap Door Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished to present a period correct image. The base is in nice condition and features the single short oval snorkel specific to the 340 4V cars. It features the 5 1/8" flange that will fit OEM Carter Thermoquads and comes with the correct Mopar air cleaner service decal. The inside surfaces are clean and retain factory stamping indentations.The factory breather filter tube and snorkel baffle are intact and maintain their original function. This special high performance version features a vacuum operated trap door - it remains closed with full vacuum, but opens upon acceleration to provide more air - thusly increasing power.
The lid is in nice condition and features the correct Mopar licensed 340 Four Barrel decal as applied by the factory. A "Made in Canada" stamp has been added to the base and lid as a nice touch of authenticity. A new lid seal has been installed to ensure proper sealing to the base. A new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included to complete the assembly.
This assembly is specific to the 1972-73 340 models listed below.

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1972-73 340 A/B/E-Body high performance models:
Dodge
Dart 340, Challenger 340, Dart Swinger 340, Charger 340
Plymouth
'Cuda 340, Duster 340, Road Runner
*While this will fit the 73 models, they had the same assembly without the trap door.
The assembly will fit a myriad of Mopars from 1970-74; it is techically only correct for 72 and acceptable for 73 since it is very similar.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Carter Thermoquad carburetors or others with the 5 1/8" flange (as well as Edelbrock/Holley/Carter AVS carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
