1971 MOPAR 383 440 SUPER COMMANDO DUAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER 'CUDA CHARGER CHALLENGER ROAD RUNNER
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1971 Mopar 383 Super Commando Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished in black wrinkle to present a period correct image. The base is in nice condition and features the dual snorkels with fully functional vacuum doors, new vacuum lines, and the correct ATS with push pin retainers. The driver's side snorkel retains the correct valve cover vent tube (specific to 71) along with a new hose to connect to the passenger side valve cover, routed through the factory hose retainers on the side of the base. The base features the 5 1/8" flange that will fit OEM Carter AVS and Thermoquads and comes with a new air cleaner service decal. The inside surfaces have been finished to prevent the typical surface rust that unfinished factory units were susceptible to.
The lid is in good condition and includes a new seal that accepts the engine pie pan. Note that the wrinkle finish contains typical variations to match that of the factory production methods. A "Made in Canada" stamp has been added to the base and lid as a nice touch of authenticity. A new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included to complete the assembly.
The assembly is complemented with a Mopar 383 Super Commando pie pan; others may be available - please inquire prior to purchase, as most are subject to availability. Note that many have been discontinued - remaining stock may reflect a higher cost for specific engine displacements (440 Magnum/440 Super Commando).
This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine Mopar part!

FITMENT
This assembly is specific to the 1971 models; while it will fit 70-74 models, it is only correct for 1971. The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Carter AVS/Thermoquad carburetors or others with the 5 1/8" flange (as well as Edelbrock/Holley carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
