DESCRIPTION
OEM 1970-72 Mopar 383/440 Four Barrel Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been media blasted and refinished in black wrinkle to present a period correct image. The base is in good condition and features the dual snorkels along with the vent tube on the driver's side snorkel (with CAP) and correct clearance indentations. The base features the 5 1/8" flange (Carter AVS/Thermoquad) specific to 68 up models. The inside surfaces have been finished to prevent the typical surface rust that unfinished factory units were susceptible to; there are slight surface anomalies-all out of sight once installed. The original lid is in good condition and has been fitted with a new Mopar striated lid seal. A new heavy duty K&N style air filter and period correct wing nut are included to complete the assembly. Note that the finish of the wrinkle paint is as close a match as that of the factory production methods.
The pie pan is NOT included with this - one can be obtained separately to meet your particular engine needs.
About this unit: this air cleaner was solely available for motor homes - they never found their way into the high performance models for any year. However, many enthusiasts prefer a factory look without the thermal pre-heater doors - particularly appealing for header equipped engines. The unit will accept an engine identification pie pan to match (as pictured for illustration only) the image of the era. Note also that the snorkel orientations are closer together than the high performance units.

Note that it will fit virtually all models featuring a Carter AVS with the 5 1/8" flange from 1962-1974, but is more correct for the 70-72 models due to final image appearances.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Carter AVS carburetors or others with the 5 1/8" flange, as well as Edelbrock/Holley/Carter carburetors with the 5 1/8" flange. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to purchase to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
