DESCRIPTION

OEM 1970-71 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454 LS5 Oval Snorkel Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished in 60% gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the long oval snorkel in very good condition, along with the ThermAC vacuum pod, new white-striped vacuum lines, a new heavy duty air filter and breather filter, and a recreated date stamp (early 1970 models). The exterior features a reproduced Air Cleaner Service Decal (CN=70). The interior is in excellent condition as well.

The original OEM lid is a nice addition to the assembly and features an original seal. To complete the package, a GM licensed reproduction 454 Cross Flags Decal has been added (loosely installed) to represent the original appearance. The assembly is topped off with a period correct wing nut. 

As an added value, an original pre-heater elbow replete with correct Wittek clamp is included to make installation more complete.

This assembly is in very nice condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

Note that this is the smaller 15 1/8" air cleaner diameter, but with the much larger snorkel as compared to small block 350 assemblies. It also differs from later production air cleaners by way of the smoothed/radiused carburetor inlet flange (later models feature prominent squared edges on the interior of the flange).

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits non- A/C cars only. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
