DESCRIPTION
OEM 1970-72 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 W-30 455 Outside Air Induction Air Cleaner & Top Assembly. This OAI is an exact reproduction of the original Olds fresh air top induction air cleaner assembly that completes the W-30 OAI option for the 4-4-2 with the 455 engine. The assembly is new and has never been installed and functions as designed by Oldsmobile. The OAI top features a vacuum actuator with new line and T fitting that works flawlessly, as does the trap door. The housing is excellent and the 455 specific seal is new as well. A new reproduction fresh air air cleaner lid and new ACDelco A366C air filter completes the top assembly requirements.
The original 4-4-2 air cleaner base has been refinished in low-gloss black to present a period correct image. The oval snorkel with the formed oval end (as opposed to smaller unit with pressed on end fitting) is in good condition with a functional ThermAC pre-heater along with new white striped/black vacuum lines. The base is very clean and comes with a correct air temperature sensor (ATS) installed with the correct retainer. The exterior features a GM licensed reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (NH=71/72) that replaces the originally located decal. As an added measure, an original date stamp has been recreated to add a nice touch of authenticity. This assembly is specific to 1970-72 350/400/455 cars due to the location of the filter breather outlet and snorkel. Also included are the correct valve cover clips, two hold-down springs, and a new air cleaner stud and wing nut to complete the installation. The base does not have the three drain holds that the original OAI base would have, but is fully functional as it is.
This assembly is in nice condition and will enhance your restoration. It is an ideal choice for adding an original W-30 Outside Air Induction (OIA) option if your car didn't originally have it. Best of all, it is a combination of genuine GM original and licensed restoration parts!

4-4-2, Cutlass Supreme, Rallye 350, Hurst Olds
While this assembly is set up for the 455, a change of the foam will adapt it to 350/400 engines.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Rochester Quadrajet) with the 5 1/8" diameter flange. If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
