DESCRIPTION

OEM 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 400 (455) oval Air Cleaner. The assembly has been refinished to present a period correct image. The large single snorkel with the formed oval end (as opposed to smaller unit for 350 cars with pressed on end fitting) is in very good condition and features a fully functional ThermAC pre-heater (minor flaw on back edge) along with new white striped and black vacuum lines (without the factory overspray). The base is very clean and comes with a correct 1969 air temperature sensor (ATS) installed with the correct retainer.  The exterior features a a reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (OS=69) that replaces the originally located decal.  As an added measure, an original date stamp has been recreated to add a nice touch of authenticity. This assembly is specific to 1969 cars due to the location of the filter breather outlet, snorkel size/orientation, and pre-heater inlet location on the bottom of the snorkel.

 

An OEM lid enhances the assembly and features an original seal.To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter, along with an original breather filter tube grommet and period correct wing nut are included. To add further distinction, a GM licensed 4-4-2 decal is  installed and complements the assembly.

This assembly is correct for the following 1969 400/455 models:

Oldsmobile

Cutlass, 4-4-2, Vista Cruiser, Cutlass Supreme, Delta 88, Regency 98

 

This assembly is a one-year only piece due to the size and nature of the snorkel, pre-heater inlet orientation, and valve cover fitting for the breather element. 

 

FITMENT

 

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (not double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). Fits non- A/C cars only. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS

Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
