1969-70 MOPAR FIBERGLASS AIR GRABBER AIR CLEANER 383 440
1969-70 Mopar 383/440 Magnum Four Barrel fiberglass Air Grabber Air Cleaner assembly. This is a reproduction Air Grabber air cleaner made of fiberglass that mimics the originals to present a period correct image. The base is in very nice condition with a very clean carburetor flange featuring a customized retaining bar. All components fit nicely, while the nuts have been lock-tite secured in order to remain tight. The custom studs protrude through the lid to mirror the original stanchions as well, but will limit the amount of tightening on the wing nut in order to minimize deflection. The exterior seal flange features a smooth finish, but lacks the correct oil filter breather inlet tube on the driver's rear side. A "Made in Canada" stamp has been added as a further measure of authenticity. Note that the carburetor flange is presently established for the 383 height; the flange can easily be modified by using a 6" DA sander to remove the necessary material to lower it for a RB 440 engine.
The lid has been refinished in hemi orange and has reinforcements beneath the wing nut lands to add maximum strength. It is nice as well and is garnished with a Mopar air cleaner service decal. The top is installed with the included pair of period correct wing nuts. The "Coyote Duster" decal adds a very nice touch and enhances the overall condition. To complete the assembly, an original Fram CA332 replacement service air filter is included to make the assembly look OEM correct. To make installation complete, a new carburetor stud with wing nut is included that will secure the center stanchion to the carburetor.
This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. It is a cost effective alternative to the far more expensive factory steel pieces - it produces the same visual effects, but the bottoms of both pieces are black and unfinished fiberglass. Only you will know that it is not a factory original piece.

This assembly will fit a myriad of A/B/C bodies without the Air Grabber/Ram Charger fresh air systems. Please inquire if you are unsure of fitment options.
Note: the base is currently cut to the B deck engines (383/400) due to the height of the carburetor flange. You can remove approximately 3/4" from the flange and it will fit 413/426/440 RB deck engines due to the difference in height at the flange since the RB deck engines are taller and need a shorter flange.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory Carter AVS 4 barrel carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange and others to include Holley, Carter, and Edelbrock variations without electric choke (some adjustment to the flange may be necessary). If you have modified your carburetor, have a spacer, or different intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
