1968 BUICK GRAN SPORT GS SKYLARK 350 400 OVAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1968 Buick GS 350 400 Oval Snorkel Air Cleaner. The assembly has been refinished in 60% gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel in good condition with a fully functional ThermAC vacuum valve (minor anomalies as pictured), new white-striped vacuum lines, correct air temperature sensor, and a new heavy duty air filter. The exterior features a reproduction air cleaner service decal that replaces the original silk-screened instructions (BC=68). The base features the correct drop required for the Buick 350/400, as well as the 5 1/8" carburetor flange designed to work with factory Rochester Quadrajet. The snorkel retains the original pre-heater inlet below the ThermAC trap door designed for the rubber elbow particular to Buick models.
A new reproduction chrome lid with seal enhances the assembly and recreates the factory image. To complete the package, a period correct wing nut & new filter breather are included. An original style date stamp has been added to enhance the level of authenticity.
As an added value, a correct Buick rubber elbow with spring clamps and metal pre-heater pipe are included, making installation more complete.
This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. These one-year only assemblies are seldom seen today, especially since many were discarded in favor of the upgraded Ram Air style assemblies. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following models:
Buick
Skylark GS (68) without Ram Air with 350-4 or 400-4 engines, California GS
This assembly will also fit the 69 models without Ram Air, but is technically incorrect.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
