1968 PONTIAC GTO FIREBIRD 400 OVAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANER
DESCRIPTION
OEM 1968 Pontiac GTO Firebird 400 Oval Snorkel Air Cleaner. The assembly has media blasted and refinished in mid-gloss black to present a period correct image. The base features the oval snorkel in good condition with a fully functional ThermAC vacuum valve, correct new white-striped vacuum lines, 68 style AC air temperature sensor, and a new A212CW square mesh air filter replete with correct GM lettering. The exterior has been garnished with a reproduction air cleaner service decal (PP=68) that replaces the original silk-screened instructions. The assembly features the correct drop required for the 400, as well as the 5 1/8" carburetor flange designed to work with factory Rochester Quadrajets. An original style mid-year date stamp has been added to the inside as a nice touch of authenticity.
A new triple plated reproduction chrome lid with Pontiac style ridges and an original seal enhances the assembly and creates the correct factory image. To complete the package, a period correct wing and stapled FB59 filter breather with adapter are included.
As an added value, the assembly comes with an original early style breather tube, as well as original elbow with early style clamp and black aluminized pre-heater hose, making the assembly appear as close to factory as possible.

This assembly is correct for the following models:
Pontiac

Firebird 400-4 (68 and 69)
This assembly will also fit the 350 HO engines, but is techically not correct.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most Holley (it will NOT fit double pumpers; i.e. models 4150/4160), Carter/Edelbrock variations without an electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
Assemblies must be returned in the original packing – customers are responsible for return shipping charges. A refund will be issued upon receipt of the inspected assembly. Returns for non-fitment will not be honored – please ask questions first.
