1967 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE IMPALA SS CAMARO 396/325HP K-19 SMOG AIR CLEANER

                                                 DESCRIPTION

1967 Chevrolet Impala SS Caprice Biscayne Sport Coupe Chevelle Malibu 396/325HP K-19 Air Cleaner. The assembly has been finished in the semi-gloss black finish to present a period correct image. The single snorkel with oval end is in nice condition and is correct for big blocks (small blocks used a longer snorkel that sloped upwards and was completed with a round trumpet inlet). The base is clean and features the correct flat bottom interior of the 67 large diameter air cleaner.  The exterior features a GM licensed reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal. The K-19 smog provision is unique in that it featured both a new for 67 flame arrestor that connected to the valve cover, as well as a separate hose connection that attached to the smog pump. This assembly features a genuine GM stamped flame arrestor screen and GM stamped adapter hose (90 degree adapter required, but not included). Note that the flame arrestor tube had a small extension added to the top, under the flame arrestor, due to a previous ill-advised modification (disclosed for clarity). A very nice OEM/original white-striped XX marked smog pump hose is included - replete with new Wittek tower clamps - making the assembly appear very original. The last picture is a real 1967 427/390HP featuring the K-19 provision that recently sold for a six figure sum.

An exceptionally nice chrome reproduction lid enhances the assembly and features a new seal. To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included. To add further distinction, GM licensed 396 Cross Flags and Turbo-Jet 325HP have been (loosely )installed. Optional decals include the 427/330HP or 350HP Turbo-jet - please add a note to let us know which set you prefer. If no note is provided, the 396/325 decals will be included.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetors with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as Holley (non-double pumpers), Carter, and Edelbrock variations without electric choke (some adjustment to the carburetor alignment tangs may be required). If you have modified your carburetor, intake manifold or valve covers, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.

RETURNS
