1964-66 MOPAR 273 UNSILENCED AIR CLEANER OEM SURVIVOR CHARGER DART GT
DESCRIPTION
1964-67 Mopar 273 4V Chrome Unsilenced Air Cleaner. This assembly is a very nice original survivor. Overall, it presents well on the sides and comes with a reproduction Mopar air cleaner service decal. The top is very good, showing very minimal fading of the chrome; there are minor impressions on the very top, as well as one underneath the pie plate. The top is the earlier version that was delivered prior to CAP (valve cover breather nipple). An original 273 Charger plate remains - it can also be changed out to the Commando 273 if being installed in a Barracuda. The original base remains as from the factory; it has been cleaned and cleared and is in excellent condition. It features a 4 1/8" carburetor flange that fits the original Carter AFB carburetors. The interior of the top has been cleaned and clear coated to prevent typical rusting associated with unfinished metal. To complete the assembly, a new heavy duty air filter and period correct wing nut are included.

A word about re-chroming. Due to the extensive costs associated with maintaining EPA requirements, the cost of chroming parts has escalated substantially. Many chrome shops have gone out of business as a result of the EPA's crackdown on environmental impacts. In some instances, original parts are left to represent themselves as produced. We felt the originality of this piece was good enough to stand on its own.
APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1964-67 273 high performance models without CAP:
Dodge
Dart GT
Plymouth
Barracuda, Formula S
It will fit A/B/C-body cars ranging from 62-67 as well with the smaller carburetor flange, but is only correct for 1964-67. It will also fit 383/413 models as well from this era.
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Carter AFB) with a 4 1/8" diameter flange. It will not fit newer carburetors such as Holley, Carter AVS, or Edelbrock AFB variations. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
