1964-65 Mopar 426 Chrome Unsilenced Street Wedge Air Cleaner

DESCRIPTION

1964-65 Mopar 426 4V Street Wedge Chrome Unsilenced Air Cleaner. This assembly has been rechromed to a beautiful standard. Overall, it presents to a stunning visual representation. The top is garnished with a Mopar Licensed 426 Commando decal (loosely applied), as well as an era correct air cleaner service decal. The more modern base is in excellent condition and features a 5 1/8" carburetor flange that fits the Carter AVS/Holley/Avenger/etc...carburetors. An adapter to fit the early AFB models is available if required - please enquire first prior to purchase. A factory driver's side CAP vent tube connects to your valve cover breather tube. The interior of the top features typical flash chrome finishing which will prevent typcial rusting associated with unfinished metal. To complete the assembly, a new heavy duty air filter and period correct chrome wing nut are included.

A word about rechroming. Due to the extensive costs associated with maintaining EPA requirements, the cost of chroming parts has escalated. Many chrome shops have gone out of business as a result of the EPA's crackdown on environmental impacts. We have found a company that complies with the laws governing heavy chemicals, as well as providing a quality product. While the costs are higher, we feel the investment is worth the end result.

APPLICATIONS

This assembly is correct for the following 1964-65 426 high performance models:

Dodge

440, Polara, Coronet, Dart

Plymouth

Fury, Satellite, Savoy, Belvedere

It will fit A/B/C/E-body cars ranging from 62-74 as well with the larger carburetor flange, but is only correct for 1964-65. It will also fit 383/413 models as well from this era.

FITMENT

The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Carter AVS/Thermoquad) with a 5 1/8" diameter flange to include Holley, Carter, and Edelbrock variations. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
