1959-61 CHEVROLET IMPALA 348 3X2 TRIPOWER AIR CLEANER
1959-61 Chevrolet Belair 348 3x2 Tripower Air Cleaner. This is a reproduction assembly that has been media blasted and refinished to the original look of the 1959-61 cars featuring the infamous Tripower carburetion. The base features a very clean interior, nice filter ridge, smooth perimeter, and correct clearance dimples on the bottom. The snorkels are straight (with revised and correct welding impressions on the ends) and clocked at 1:00 and 9:00 (as viewed from the "front" marking) - this defines the years and applications. Each snorkel is a different length - specific to the Chevrolet ancillary requirements. The internal carburetor mounting stancheons have been installed to mount to the outer carburetors (always missing from aftermarket pieces). Note that the all carburetor flanges are the same large size (2 3/4") and height. The exterior has been updated with a GM licensed air cleaner service decal (orange over black instead of over clear) to finish off the exterior.
An original lid is included and in good condition. It sits nicely on a new heavy duty air filter and is secured by a period correct wing nut.
This assembly presents nicely and remains an excellent choice to enhance your restoration. It is a cost-effective alternative to the far more expensive OEM assembly.
